An update on the other little thing that goes ‘bump’ in the night … …

Well, we’ve safely entered week 25 of pregnancy and things seem to be getting back to ‘normal’, somewhat.

Although slower, and less agile, now at the almost 6 months mark I think I’m back on track a bit. At the beginning (1-3 months) I was super tired to the point of permanent exhaustion; at 4-5 months I was experiencing ‘expansion pains’ and now I guess I’ve just got a bit more used to being slower and more considered in my movements. The Physio and exercise regime has definitely helped a lot with the hypermobility and ’stretchy ligament syndrome’.

I walk the dog for about an hour a day, have 2 prenatal Aqua Classes a week and am starting Pre-natal Pilates - all at the hospital where we will be having the baby.

Most people who pass comment when I am out and about in the street or in a shop somewhere (!) seem to think I’ll be having a girl the way that I am carrying her/him. We don’t know either way - and it’s getting more and more exciting to wonder what we will be having !

We have been shopping now and amassed quite a few bits and pieces. “Granny” Denise and “Grandad” Bob have bought the baby it’s cot with a ‘kick action side’ and a baby-bouncer. “Grandma” Phyllis and “Grandpa” Stephen have just bought baby it’s first set of wheels (We’ve gone with the new Quinny Buzz 4 pram and carry cot - in Strawberry colour, and I am super excited as I placed the order today and the new range arrives in Australia mid-April !!).

Paul and I have bought a rocking cradle for the first 4 or so months when baby is in with us during the night - and that is due to arrive by the end of March. We went for that instead of a moses basket because we figured it is probably going to be a long baby and would therefore grow out of it too quickly - with it having Paul’s genes !

So, Baby is kicking and into it’s own little routine of being asleep and awake. We’re starting to get more of a move on with the Nursery now, and Paul is transforming that room into what will be a truly lovely space for us all.

We’re spending tomorrow doing Nursery DIY (rebuilding the window and wardrobe etc) - so watch this space for nursery updates !

Over and out (until next time!)
